Common
questions.
Everything you need to know before booking a job — pricing, scheduling, licensing, and what to expect when we show up.
Is Fanny Pack Home Services licensed and insured?
Yes. Every professional in our network is required to carry general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage before they can work with us. It is a non-negotiable requirement, not an option. You are protected if anything goes wrong on the job.
Do handymen need a license in Florida?
Florida law requires a contractor license for jobs above certain dollar thresholds and for specific trade work (electrical, plumbing, structural). Permit-free handyman work — the category most home repairs fall into — does not require a state contractor license, but professionals still need to carry insurance. Our network professionals are licensed where licensing is required and insured on every job. See our full breakdown: Do Handymen Need a License in Florida?
What happens if something gets damaged on the job?
Our professionals carry general liability insurance specifically to cover property damage that occurs during a job. If something is damaged, the insurance is there. You are not left holding the bill.
How much does Fanny Pack Home Services charge?
Pricing depends on the job. We do not quote a flat rate without knowing what the work involves — that would not be honest. What we can tell you is that you will get a clear quote before any work starts, with no surprises on the invoice. Call us or submit a request and we will tell you exactly what it costs.
Are estimates free?
Phone and virtual estimates are free. If you need a technician to come on-site to assess the job before quoting, there is an $85 on-site estimate fee. That fee is applied toward the total cost of the job if you decide to proceed. You are not paying $85 for nothing — it goes toward the work.
Is there a minimum job size or minimum charge?
No. There is no minimum job size. A single outlet swap gets the same honest quote as a full punch list. We do not turn away small jobs.
Will the price change after the work starts?
The quoted price is the price you pay — with one exception: if we open a wall and find a problem that was not visible during the estimate (structural damage, previous bad repair work, etc.), we will show you and re-quote before touching anything new. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
How fast can I get a response to my quote request?
Same day. Every estimate request receives a same-day response. This is something we take seriously — you will not be waiting three days to hear back.
How soon can you get someone out for the actual job?
Most jobs can be scheduled next day. Larger or more complex work is typically within the same week. We work around your schedule, not the other way around.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Our standard hours run Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. Contact us directly for weekend availability on your specific job.
Can you work around a short-term rental checkout and check-in window?
Yes. We work with property managers and STR owners regularly. We can coordinate with your cleaning crew, work within tight turnover windows, and handle recurring maintenance across multiple units. Tell us the window when you book and we will plan around it.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. We stand behind every job. If the work is not done to your satisfaction, we will make it right. We want you to be happy with what we did — that is the whole point.
What if I am not happy with the result?
Contact us directly. We will come back out, assess what is not right, and fix it. We are not the kind of operation that disappears after the invoice is paid. Your satisfaction matters more than a quick close.
What services does Fanny Pack Home Services offer?
We handle a wide range of residential and commercial work: drywall repair and texture matching, TV mounting on any wall type, door repair and installation, flooring installation (LVP, tile, and hardwood), appliance installation and repair, plumbing fixture work, electrical work (outlets, ceiling fans, switches), carpentry and built-ins, pool cleaning, lawn mowing, house cleaning, garbage disposal repair, fitness equipment assembly, and Christmas light installation. If it is a home or property maintenance job, we can handle it.
Is there any job type you will not do?
No. We do not turn away job types. If it is a legitimate home or property maintenance task, we will give you a straight quote on it.
Can you match existing textures on drywall repairs?
Yes. We match orange peel, knockdown, and smooth finishes. The goal is that you cannot tell where the repair is once we are done.
Do you mount TVs on concrete block or brick walls?
Yes. Drywall, concrete block, and brick — all three are common in Central Florida homes and we work on all of them. Cables are managed and hidden so the wall looks clean when we leave.
What areas does Fanny Pack Home Services serve?
We serve Central Florida including Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Sanford, Kissimmee, Mt. Dora, Zellwood, Longwood, Lake Mary, Winter Garden, Maitland, Lake Nona, Clearwater, Tampa, and surrounding communities. No travel fees within our service area.
Do you charge travel fees?
No. There are no travel fees within our service area. The quote you get is the price for the work, not the work plus a trip charge.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes. We serve both residential homeowners and commercial clients — offices, retail spaces, property management companies, landlords, and short-term rental operators. The same standards apply: licensed professionals, honest quotes, and same-week scheduling.
Can you handle recurring maintenance contracts for a property manager?
Yes. If you manage multiple units or need regular maintenance across several properties, contact us to talk through what that looks like. We can coordinate scheduling and keep notes per property so we are not starting from scratch every visit.
Who are the technicians?
Fanny Pack Home Services works with a vetted network of professional tradespeople across Central Florida. Every professional in the network is required to be licensed where applicable and carry both general liability and workers compensation insurance before they can take a job through us. Quality and integrity are the standards — not optional add-ons.
