A humming disposal is a jammed disposal. A leaking one is a cabinet problem waiting to happen. We've seen every failure mode — most take under an hour to fix.
Get a free estimateWhat we actually fix
Jammed impeller plate — something got past the splash guard and locked the grinding plate. This is the most common call. We clear the jam, check for damage, and test it under load before we leave.
Leaking unit — either the sink flange seal has failed, the drain connection has loosened, or the body of the disposal itself is cracked. First two are repairs; a cracked body means replacement. We'll tell you which before we touch anything.
Won't turn on — faulty reset button, tripped GFCI, bad switch, or a burned-out motor. We diagnose in order of cost so you're not paying for a replacement when a reset would have done it.
What's included
We use the correct Allen key and reset procedure — not a broom handle. If the impeller is damaged from the jam, we'll show you before recommending a replacement.
Sink flange, drain connection, or body crack — we identify the source and fix what's fixable. No guessing, no replacing parts that aren't the problem.
Dead switch, tripped GFCI, failed reset button, or failed motor — we work through it in order of cost. If it's the motor, we'll quote a replacement on the spot.
Common questions
Age and failure type. Under 8 years old with a jam or minor leak — almost always repairable. Over 10 years with a motor failure or cracked body — replacement is usually smarter than repair. We'll give you the honest read when we're on-site.
Yes. If we determine replacement is the better call, we can install a new unit the same visit if we have a compatible replacement on the truck. We stock common sizes. If you have a specific unit you want, we can come back to install it — just supply the disposal.
Not an emergency, but don't ignore it. Running a jammed disposal burns out the motor faster. Hit the reset button on the bottom first — if it still hums without grinding, kill the switch and call us.
For leak repairs, yes. For jam clearing and electrical issues, no. We bring everything needed for a water shutoff. If your shutoff valve under the sink is corroded and won't close, we'll note it and can replace that while we're there.
